Can I deduct any of the expenses associated with my child's ADHD and autism?
I have a child who has a diagnosis of attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and a provisional diagnosis of autism. He attends a school for children with special needs, such as ADHD, and he attends weekly sessions with an academic tutor. Can I deduct any of these expenses?

You may include as medical expenses the cost of sending, on a doctor's recommendation, a mentally or physically disabled dependent to a school or institution with special programs to overcome or alleviate his or her disability.
