Get proof for donations of used clothing and household items

When giving old clothing, appliances, and other household items to charity, you must be able to show that they are in good used condition or better. Otherwise, no deduction can be taken on your return. The charity may or may not give you a statement about the condition of your donated items. Better way: Take a photo of the items and keep it with the records for your tax return for the year that you're taking a charitable contribution deduction for the donation.
