I plan to make some energy improvements to my home. What type of expenses qualifies and how much of a tax break do I get?

The new law gives you a tax credit in 2009 and 2010 for certain energy-saving improvements. These include furnaces, windows and doors, insulation, and certain other items. The credit is 30% of the cost of these improvements, up to an aggregate limit of $1,500. There are no income limits on eligibility for this credit.
