New bonus depreciation for 2008

There is a bonus depreciation deduction of 50% of the adjusted basis of qualifying property placed in service in 2008. The bonus depreciation deduction applies to most tangible personal property, off-the-shelf software, and leasehold improvements. Fiscal year 2007–2008 business owners use new Form 4562-FY to claim 50% bonus depreciation.
